22nd May 2015, King’s College London
The project’s first dissemination event was held at King’s College London on 22nd May 2015 with an invited audience of about 50 participants. They represented a wide range of interests.
Our aim was to present some initial findings, to seek feedback on our progress, and to strengthen our links with people who are interested in our topic, and the event succeeded in all of these ways. The programme began with brief PechaKucha style presentations by the whole team to provide an overview of the project. These were followed by presentations on the corpus by Alison Sealey, and on the interviews and focus groups by Guy Cook. Afternoon interactive carousel sessions were on the PhD projects (Anda Drasovean and Emma McLaughlin), the corpus (Chris Pak and Alison Sealey), and the interviews and focus groups (Clyde Ancarno and Guy Cook). The day concluded with a Round Table involving a panel of discussants chaired by Kieran O’Halloran with Dr John Bradshaw, Professor John Dupré, Professor Timothy Ingold and Dr Arran Stibbe (Professor Brigitte Nerlich was unfortunately unable to attend).
We shall be holding a second dissemination event in the summer or early autumn of 2016. If you are interested in attending, please contact Clyde Ancarno (firstname.lastname@example.org).
